Really nice older warmblood mares need homes!
Sep 21 2009
Just passing this along…we see a lot of amazing deals these days but even considering that, these sound like such nice mares that I had to post it! These are all at the $1000/negotiable level and will be adopted out with a standard rescue contract. They are in the Yakima, WA area. I don’t have the pics but you can get them from Shelly Richardson at shelly@sunnyacresranch.com . Shelly R. is a rescuer friend of mine who has helped many ex-CBER horses land on their feet.Â
“Whitney – 21-yr-old Oldenburg mare, had a successful jumping career, then trained through 2nd level dressage. Still spunky and too much horse for a total beginner rider. She is 16hh, gray, and gorgeous! Picture taken 4 years ago when she was being shown. She is currently in broodmare condition, so will need conditioning to go back to the show ring.
Â
Ruby – 18-yr-old chestnut Westphalian imported mare from Germany, successful show horse in jumping and dressage until a hock injury. Sound enough for light riding again, no jumping though. Would make an EXCELLENT walk/trot horse or low level dressage horse. Very sweet and kind personality.
Â
Pretty – 9-yr-old bay Thoroughbred mare, approved for Westphalian – papers are currently in Germany getting stamped. Broke to ride, nice gaits, sound, sane, and ready to go back to work. Picture does not do this girl justice.Â
Â
If you are interested, or have anyone that is looking for a high quality mare dirt cheap, please have them contact me ASAP. The owner needs to place these girls immediately.
Â
Thanks,
Shelly

There are actually pictures of each mare on the sunnyacresranch.com website. Just click “available horses”.
Very nice looking mares.
My FiSH arguments rise up from the grave – and I’m still right, hunterprincess! LOL, just pulling your chain, HP, I’m not really bringing that up again. Not even the gold-plated “real Warmblood” papers can keep a horse from coming down to meat level values in this economy, even when they don’t deserve to be there.
Ruby and Whitney *drool*…
@ Fugly – I have Add Art on my Firefox, and it always replaces the ad at the bottom of this page with the PG – Parental Guidance Suggested banner. It’s quite amusing, you should really replace it with that.
OT, but is there anyone in or close to NE Missouri that is interested in attending a Natural Hoof Care Clinic?
Drat my bank balance. I’d take all three!
Thank god they aren’t Welsh Ponies!! Or Curlies!, or miniatures!! My checkbook’s still protesting last “upgrade” project! Gotta love chili and hotpockets and more chili!
I actually know two of the three horses on this list.
The owner and I had lost touch about a year ago, so I’m in a bit of shock. The first mare, Whitney is a wonderful broodmare and mother. I knew her last foal by Rodioso– a very nice colt, who was still black at nearly two. I have not seen her more than trail ridden, but she is a nice substantial mare. The second, Pretty, is a very nice TB mare. She is a super nice mover and progressed in a very short time with a good rider.
These are very nice girls who very much need a loving home for the winter.
