i have the most wonderful 35 year old gelding, he’s bred to in the purple, completely broke to ride or drive (rides double and triple even), he really does well for being deaf, dumb and blind in one eye, and that sore leg really doesn’t seem to bother him when he’s running, heck he limps evenly on all of them.

I’m thinking he’d be great for some kids who would ride the living heck out of him on the weekends, keep in a field with no shelter and forget to feed him on cold mornings. Only $50,000 to the perfect home.

And he’ll live? Oh months at least.

no no no they got it wrong!! well, all was great up until the price–it neds to be ‘free to good home but has to go by Christmas or else he goes to auction. Don’t miss out on this great opportunity!!’ hehehe….

wait, he even “rides” double and triple, without even having his legs snap? Thats amazing for a 35 year old. Sign me up, I’ll pay the 50 cents you want for him, oh wait, that says $50,000, ummm, well at least the meat man won’t get him for that price

Which one of us is it?

Is it you, person with the Freesiawalkaloosa (do I have the breed right?) stallion from Dreamhorse a month or so back?

I agree with cuillin, the price should have been free (or a few bucks) – and then you could have let us know how many people answered (at your hopefully just-set-up email address) who were interested, and how many were outraged at you.

I still want to post my FUUUUGLY gelding as a stallion ‘for stud’. I guess it doesn’t matter that I can’t get a “good” conformation shot… honestly the best equine photographer in the world probably couldn’t get a good conformation shot.

I’d hate to hide him behind bushes, like the pinto, because then people couldn’t see his leg “feathers” (aka long fetlock hairs).

Weirdly, I found an elderly Arabian mare on Craig’s List a couple of years ago. She was Varian bred and had once sold for $40K. The woman I bought her from was (politely) nuts and had tricked the previous owner into selling to her for almost nothing (she actually made at least $100 off me—nice flipping), and I got her for $400.

You have never seen a horse get on a trailer as quickly as that mare did. She only lived about eight months, but she was so sweet. I was going through some difficult times, and we’d just hang out eating tangerines or carrots.

Anyway, this may have been a tangent, but I did find her on Craig’s List, she was old, and the woman I saved her from couldn’t spell to save her life.

I got emails like that (same questions, same “we’ll pay you extra so you can send the horse RIGHT NOW to the UK and then send us whatever’s left of the money too” and horrible spelling. These are, of course, all a scam, as any cashier’s checks, etc actually sent are fraudulent, and by the time you have your (whatever it is you’re selling) shipped off to the UK and the bank calls to tell you the FBI is coming to get your ass for trying to cash a fake check, it’s too late to get (it, whatever it may be) back.

Hehe…these scammers amuse me…Has anyone seen the commercials for them? They actually made a commercial to warn against this scam, which is absolutely hilarious! How many stupid people had to fall for this for there to be a public service COMMERCIAL made about it?

I also think it’s funny when they forget to properly format the email. For instance, I got an email telling me they were interested in purchasing my PUPPY in response to my horse ad. Very hilarious *snark*

I’ll have to dig it out and paste it up here for all to see XD

Charliehorse- I am aware of the scam and funny enough the first response was for an expsensive item and the second was much less. Usually they target the expensive stuff. Better chance to make more $$$ for them.

I like the 4 different email addresses though. That part was classic.

Mostly these responses warrant a reply of, “Apparently from your line of questions, you did not read the ad to begin with. Go back and read it, learn to spell and then maybe we can talk.”

I have had responses such as these, to ads where there is no picture of the horse/item and they want to buy it right away. One wanted pictures to speed the sale through and to help him “convince his client to buy”.

How many folks do you know of that need convincing to buy an item they want or are looking for? Our experience has, in comparrison, been the opposite. Do NOT buy this horse/cart/saddle ??? because of
    a)____
    b)____
    c)____
    or
    d) all the above…

To which the morons among us, will always run out and buy anyways when advised against something.

They are the folks who end up featured here and whine about it, in less than even good grammar and spelling.

She’s a paint / Arab X. Imagine how much bigger her head would be if she wasn’t half-Arabian!

But she could be triple registered. IAHA (1/2 Arabian), Pinto, and with the handy-dandy Blue-Eyed Horse Registry. (and I’m sure there are more registries that could be found for her!)

Regarding the Stump Trained TWH, when HAVEN’T we all needed a horse to stand on a stump? Trained in Shelbyville, what do you want to bet she’s been built up before? She probably likes standing on a stump because she got so used to wearing the pads.
