And then I chased her wit the four wheeler…
Nov 07 2007
I got into horses 32 years ago, when there was no Internet, and the only way you came into contact with people like this was when they came to board at your barn and you wound up staring in horror as they did endlessly stupid things with their horses. For example, I remember the girl at my barn who thought it was way cool to teach her horse to rear, and then was surprised when he began to do so as he was waiting to run barrels. *headshake*
But now, thanks to our online world, we get to peek constantly into the sad lives of horses who live with people who just don’t have even half a clue.
And yes, I understand that the person who posted the below is most likely a teenager. But WHERE are her PARENTS? Poor fugly paint horses…every horse deserves better than this.
Check OUT the back pastern on the left. OMG. Of course, they bred her!
Here is the post. Yes, my eyes are bleeding after reading this, also. You have been warned. My comments are in blue.
“I have posted them on so many sites. At lest the mother. The one foal bucked off one of my family members and had her get stitches and is just to dangerous to ride. Who would want a horse like that? Perhaps someone who would wait until it is old enough to ride? As downhill as it is, I’m guessing it’s a yearling! The mare is also terrible. She reared and tried to throw me. Thus showing her excellent judgment. Also, if you look at the pic, her ankles are terrible. OK, you’re not blind! Hooray. So you were trying to ride her…why? They have about another month here before they are gone. I don’t trust that mare at all and the foal, no one but my father is aloud to ride her. Oh great. ‘Cause what a downhill baby with crappy legs to begin with really needs is some yahoo full grown man clomping around on her. And even he won’t! Hooray! To me, both these horses are useless. I can assure you, they think the same of you and your family. And to answer this question before some of you get all, but why not keep them both as brood mares!?! Actually, that was the one question I DIDN’T have for you. Well, the foal is mean and she hurt a family member, that will not be excepted. I think you are going for “accepted” and if you think the foal is “mean” because she bucks, you need to learn a thing or three thousand about training. She had her chance and she blew it. Since she’s such a genius she can comprehend things like that. Oh well, I understand your confusion…since I fear she is smarter than YOU are. The mare, the last time we breed her, was in so much pain because she was carrying the foal and all of that wait was coming down on her ankles. She about layed down all day. Of course, you didn’t think to consult with a vet before making the decision to put a few extra hundred pounds on her ankles. That would have cost MONEY, which as we are about to see, you don’t have any of. When the foal was born, she was again walking around. To let you all no, I will start with this,It really is none of your business. Then why did you post it on the Internet and make it our business? But we did not do anything to that terrible horse. As we are about to explain. Here is what happened:We put a good saddle on her, am I was riding her in the lot. I rode her to the house. She spooked and ran me throw a pine tree. So I ask my mom if she would like to ride her. She says yes and she rides her over to the gate. All of a sudden the idiot horse starts to buck and goes nuts! She slams my mom into our metal garage and makes her get 7 stitches! She had no reason to do that. Oh honey, I am sure if she could talk, she could share with us all of her EXCELLENT reasons for doing that! I am very up set with the replies I have received. I am not talking about this any longer. Except for the 3527 more posts I will make responding to all of you who point out, quite correctly, that my family is full of abusive, negligent dumbasses. I was not useing spurs or anything to make her hurt. I wasn’t even using a stinking whip! It wasn’t my falt they acted this way. Nothing’s MY fault. It’s the HORSE’S fault. The horse is JUST BAD. Most of you need to understand that. Also, may I say, when er back ankels giveout and she can’ walk, what are we suppost to do? we have no money to spend on putting a horse down. THEN YOU SHOULDN’T FUCKING OWN ANY! My dad grew up with horses and my grandparents still have horses! I am sad, sad, SAD for those horses. I am experencd. Just because you have done things the wrong way for years doesn’t make you “experienced.” I really don’t like the oopions on here, the mare almost killed my mom. Yes, a wound requiring 7 stitches sounds totally life-threatening. The docter said she was very lucky.I don’t live in the united kingdom. If you don’t live in the USA, don’t reply, because your info and opinions are usless to me. Trust me, sweetie, those of us in the good old US of A think you’re JUST as much of a moron as those in the U.K.! I really would love to see you get on her mid. Her WHAT? I think your mind would change ASAP.” Not about you, it wouldn’t.
Then we have the “Upadte.” I swear I just have to let this stand on its own. It is one of the more horrifying things I have read on the Internet.
“Upadte: Maya wither will be shot, sold, or auctioned off. I have been rideing her, and after getting reared on, bucked and terrible other things, I have finally got the overeo to the point were you can do anything on her buit run. For if you run, she will buck. Not a wild buck, but a buck that you can stay on with. I am so sick of her. The filly is no good. My dad is going to give her a good ride. And if he can’t do anything, we are sending her to my cuz, she will use whips, and spurs and anything else to make sure that dang horse nows whos boss. I can’t wait to see her when she comes back. I, for the last sticken time, I am a great horse person. I know loads about horses, I work with them every day, I don’t even use a sattle to ride! I jump, barrels, all with out a sattle. When I was little, I had a horrible experience with horses. I used to live below my gma, my cuz and I were each on a horse rideing from my house to my gmas. She was leading me bcse I was scared of my pony at the time. The lead rope got tangeled in my cuzs horses tail, she reared, my ciz feal off, my pony reared and I was in tears and scared the rest of the night. I Then was experenced at a time when my pony ran throw a barb wire fence and I fell off his back and landed on the barb wire fence. I still have scares on my bkac. I have retrained my pony and he is perfect. I have retrained Maya and she is great. The filly is hopeless. My cuz is her last hope. I really hope she gets that freaken horse straightened out. If she doesn’t she said we can borrow her trailer and hall her to the auction coming up in November. So there is the update. I will be takeing her out again tommarow. I have been working her and it has come to the point where I have to chase her wit the four wheeler to catch her. I plan on getting her trained well, puttting her up for 800 $ and selling her. She is reg. and pretty. Shouldn’t be hard to get rid of.. “
It is unusual for me to say this but…
PLEASE TAKE HER TO THE AUCTION! Almost ANY fate is better than staying with you! Holy SHIT!
We need to get to work on that license to own a horse that I’ve been saying we need for the past 20 years. Every time I am reminded that there are horses living like this, it makes me crazy.

I think it’s funny because after I re-read the post she spelled saddle correctly in the paragraph that has fugly’s comments, but then spelled it differently later… just interesting I think, not sure if there’s any significance to that.

Still looking for that pic (the weird markings I remember), playing photoshop when I realized that’s what is different – the background. Who made this is much better at it than me, but I still can see the lines/fading (especially around that back hoof).
How the heck can they get a black & white out of a red? I can’t even get a dang bay…
red is easy to change. it’s black and grey horses that are damn near impossible
There are days when I think I shouldn’t own my horse. Then I read stuff like this and I realize that my horse got lucky in some respects. No, I’m not the best horse owner…but I’m willing to educate myself, listen to advice, and better yet, have a lick or two of common sense.
I also know how to spell saddle, and reins.

Thank you!
That grey must have one heck of a two-track. Love those airs above ground.

Breeding or photoshopping (I can’t get the red out in either…)?
Something about that post rings untrue to me. I wonder if they are not just trying to make it onto fhotd with a spoof. It is just too over the top in a rather deliberate way.
-lol- photoshopping. genetics is beyond me ;0)
Easy to get a blk and white out of a chestnut and white (if breeding). Breed to a homozygous black and you get black and white. Breed to a bay (which is black with an agouti), and you can also get black and white, depending on the genetics of the bay. Breed ‘red’ to ‘red’ and you will always get ‘red.’ UC Davis has a great site on color genetics.
In Photoshop, it is easy. Just outline the area you want to change the color of, remove it and fill it in with the chestnut color off another picture. There is actually a few more steps than that, but it isn’t to complicated. Do the same to turn chestnut to black, just blacken the chosen area.
Shovels mentioned photoshopping so I looked closer, that chestnut doesn’t look like it belongs with that background, it’s all fuzzy around the edges of the horse. I also thought from the beginning that the buildings looked way too nice for someone of that education, I expected old appliances and camaros on blocks in the background. Sounds fishy.
Sarcastabitch, Thinker–then someone should either set this org http://
http://www.unwantedhorsecoalition.org/?id=1 straight, or spread the word that they have, um, odd ideas about euthanasia.
What do you mean Kokorami?
That site seems to promote rehoming if at all possible, and euthanasia by a vet via barbituates if not…
Of course we would all love all horses to meet such a peaceeful end, but as long as there are the jackasses we see daily on this board existing out there, slaughter is going to happen… the best we can hope for is to ensure they suffer as least as possible.
Elliott’s mom here
Damn, this post makes me wish I had the PA property my family is supposed to buy in the future… We live in NJ now but in two years we are going to “jump ship” and buy our own land in PA so I dont have to pay board anymore, my mom can get herself a nice trail horse and the alpaca’s she’s always wanted.
With that, I’ll be able to sart buying some resale projects – better yet, buy a poor little foal like that one.
There’s NOTHING wrong with that foal. I’d drive to her area of PA in a hearbeat to save it! I dont know what i’d do with the mother; I wouldnt want her, sad to say. I cant be a rescue as much as I’d love to… I wouldnt be able to care for a horse with pasterns like that (or at least go INTO buying a horse knowing her pasterns were so bad… if my horse started having issues, I have all the means to take care of her.) But I CAN say I would scoop that foal up, let it mature, and then start from scratch.
If only, if only. I feel so bad for them

It’s not just USA and UK readers who have been left aghast at this -there is a strong readership here in Australia too!
Readers might be intersted to know that a recent joint research project between the Police Dept and Education Dept. found s very strong correlation between young people who display NO compassion and empathy for pets and those who commit violent crimes and / or come under scrutiny from Children’s Services in later life.
It is obvious that this young lady is completely academically challenged – of greater concern is the anger and hostility she reveals when discussing those unfortunate horses in the ‘care’ of her family!
although, i don’t believe this image has been photoshopped. not looking at a blown up image (if we are discussing the red horse). there’s no halo around the mare at all, the mane and tail would probably be pretty obvious, and you can see the shadow of the person taking the picture stretched into the distance. also, they seem to have decent property if you look at the other horses up for sale.

Oh my dear god. As a teenager, can I just say SOME OF US are eloquent!
I’m a rather recent convert to Fugly but good god I love this stuff. Well, mostly it depresses me but if you can ignore how bad the mare’s “ankles” look for a moment then it is hilarious.
Look, I’ve been riding since I was six. I got my first pony age 10. I’m 16 now with three (my pony, my old rescue boy and my young horse) and can I just say- even when I was 14 I would have been APPALLED at the treatment of those animals.
It comes back to what this girl has been taught. I wish you had to pass a test before you could own a horse.

Edited for clarity:
Shovels, what does all this mean? What if a couple of scammers, who, just maybe tried to make it in the “real horse world”, but found that money does not make you a horseman/businessman start a blog about all these bad people. Suddenly someone “suggest” sending money to help. All these internet slueths should try googling a bit to find out what an infamous blogger really is.
My best entertainment was the laughing horse fiasco. It started as just a “pot calling the kettle black”, but, dang, I just don’t know what to say. Cathy, better have the internet washed up a bit more, there’s still a trail (WA actually had to make a law against it?)…
I’m not trying to “show you the RIGHT way”, just trying to tell ya, don’t believe everything on the internet.
You’ve seen the “what it really means”, well – here:
30+yr horse experience: got one heck of a collection of Breyers
30+yr riding: Cryed until mom took me to the pony ride every fair.
Rode polo/racing/etc: Sat on one and didn’t fall off until it moved.
you get it, the list goes on.
Sounds controversial, but too vague for me to “get it” or follow your train of thought. Vague innuendos are no fun for me. I like controversy, so please be more detailed as to what you’re saying so that I can enjoy it. I apologize if English is not your first language, but I just don’t “get it.” For example, if there is a trail,as you indicate on the internet, please provide links or sites so we can all join the fun. Thanks!!
Where is this “good for nothing” filly at? If it’s anywhere near pa I’d gladly go pick it up.
She’s a good 3 hours away from me…
I need money.
For those of you who are experts in HYPP….
Just wondering, someone on ABR said this about HYPP N/H horses:
“N/H (a 50% carrier and 50% possibililty of being symptomatic”
First of all, doesn’t N/H mean you have it – not a carrier? And second of all, does a 50% chance of passing it along mean that there’s a 50% chance of being symptomatic? This doesn’t sound right to me. UC Davis says N/H can show fewer symptoms, but nowhere do I see a percentage.
Your expert wisdom please…my biology background says this person is wrong but I just don’t know enough to really say. Please enlighten me!
I am a college professor and I see this type of ‘knowledge’ all of the time. The ‘no child left behind’ way of thinking has created a generation of losers.
Unfortunately, living in Western NC, I see this attitude toward all animals. The best prevention would be to put birth control in cheap beer. Presto, problem solved…LOL
About the mares hind fetlocks…I have a two year old that is almost as coon footed. He is not DSLD, his is genetic. He was also gelded at 3 months.
Love the site
I live in PA & just checked to see how far they are…..Knox is about 300 miles from me (opposite side of PA). If it were closer I would be there today! According to the map, it is out towards Pittsburgh.

***************************
The N/H horse can pass on the H gene 50% of the time when bred to N/N horses.. that part is true.
I’m not sure what they meant by 50% symptomatic.. 100% of the N/H horses can have symptoms, depending on- Stress, Feed, Location, etc, etc, all play a part on if a HYPP horse will have an attack, although my experience has been that most of them DO have some sort of attacks, but many have such small episodes you just think they are having an ‘off’ day. Nobody watches their HYPP positive horse 24/7, and I’m quite sure owners that brag about their ‘asymptomatic’ H/N horse don’t realized they miss the times their horse IS having a problem.
Just for the record, H/N horses with the BEST management, under the BEST care, and ON medication can and do have attacks in the middle of a class and croak. It has happend at a few AQHA events, and one was a Hunter Under Saddle horse. AQHA actually covers it in their show management school.
Not saying this is common, and hopefully it happens less and less as people learn to manage the disease better, but the real true fact is they can and do drop dead of a massive attack inspite of the best of care sometimes..and after years of ‘no symptoms’.. it is a sad sad deal.
Back to the genetic part.. there is no way to know if a stud that is asymptomatic will have offspring that are like that if they are H/N.. there must be other genes that modify how well the horse is able to cope when the H gene is present. There is quite a bit of variation in the expression of this gene.
A license or application process to own horses would certinally cut out alot of these dumb fucks! That was a hard read. Those kind of skills reflect not only on their horses and other animals, but on their own children. A vicious circle. Each generation growing up thinking this is the right way to do thing, but they are lacking the mental capacity (inbreeding?) to learn for themselves a better way. Ugh, sad… just sad.
We have been killing millions of dogs and cats for years now and there is no end in sight.
I have no illusions that there never will be a licensing requirement to own a pet.
Is it just me or does it seem these are the folks who can get pregnant just by wlking through the mens deodorant aisle and ‘smelling the man scent’? They also seem to posess the ability to pop out 12 kids in 9 years or less! Of course while other more educated, intelligent folks who could provide great homes remain childless after shelling out thousands of dollars and trying every new fertility treatment and drug known to mankind…
Am I the only one who notices these things???
Have you seen the movie Idiocracy? It’s a corny-ass movie, but it takes a look at what the world will be like b/c of this type of thing happening. Hilarious!
Holy SHIT. I seriously want to find this family and kick them all in the face.
I’m a little confused by shovels’ last post. Shovels, are you saying this whole blog is some kind of scam? Wouldn’t that involve my making some money off of it? Let’s see, at last check my CafePress earnings had netted a grand total of $17…not enough for them to bother sending me a check.
If I were trying to make money off the blog and it was a scam, I think I would have begged for donations for my own rescues by now, don’t you think? I’m not a non-profit and the only donation I’ve had recently is when the girl who lives down the street came by one day and helped feed and brush.
Sorry, but there is no ulterior motive to this blog. It’s just my venting about my opinions about the horse world, and it’s apparently become popular because there are a substantial number of people who either agree with me or just plain enjoy having the freedom to debate without being deleted. I understand that people think they can somehow “discredit” me by proving I’m not some big shot in the horse world, but I never said I was. What I said is that I’ve been riding for 32 years, I taught lessons for many years, I’ve polo groomed off and on since I was 17, I’ve worked with literally hundreds of horses, numerous rescues, run horseshows, been involved a little bit in a lot of disciplines, enough to see the good and the bad, and showed fairly extensively but not in anything breed show level as I’ve never owned a horse of that quality. I’ve bred one of my own mares, once, and been involved in the breeding (as far as picking out the stud, kind of in an advisory capacity) of two more, total. The one mare I bred is in Germany, apparently cleaning house in various events including western pleasure and western riding, as we learned on the Internet. Any more questions?
People like to come to this blog and scream “what makes YOU an authority?” and to that I say, I never said I was an authority. I have an opinion, which everybody has a right to have. If your opinion differs, by all means, go write your own blog (or share your opinion in the comments, you’re welcome to do so).
Shovels, sorry you’ve had such bad experiences with rescues. I have had good and bad experiences with both rescues and dealers. I think there are some corrupt individuals involved in each and no matter who you buy/adopt from, it’s best to keep your eyes open.
Oh no, I saw this on one of the sites it was posted on. What ever happened to common sense?
The “mid” in this article was actually someone that knew what she was doing with horses and was sticking up for these poor babies. I was disgusted as this tirade of hers went on and on… it’s just despicable, it is. She tried to justify herself and her family.
Sadly, I think she’s dead serious.
“Out here near Pittsburgh it’s a lot of steel working, coal mining, or farming (all industries that are basically dead, at least in this area) families and their children seem to think “Well, it was good enough for my parents, it’s good enough for me”. It isn’t just a lack of opportunity, there’s a definate lack of any kind of ambition.”
I don’t know if it’s a lack of ambition on the part of the kids so much as pure selfishness on the part of the parents – the idea of their kids growing up different from them is a horrible threat, not a goal, and they pressure their kids to toe the line. My dad was a steelworker, my mom was a housewife and they were both 110% sure that their kids weren’t going to repeat their mistakes (we were free to make new mistake like thinking professors knew everything and white-collar jobs would be just like Katherine Hepburn movies
Yet we had neighbors who seemed completely happy that their kids never went to college, started having kids at 18, married at 19, etc., in perfect imitation of their parents’ lives. I guess it’s the same instinct as a middle-class parent wanting their kid to follow in Doctor Dad’s footsteps; immensely gratifying to have your kid imitate your life. It just looks more selfish if you’re poor, and plain creepy if you’re poor ‘n trashy.

I really doubt her family tree branches and I think the gene pool needs a few hundred gallons of chlorine.
Thinker–if you download their booket they mention captive bolt as a euth. option, which doesn’t seem very “eu”/happy to me from what I’ve heard. (They say, “This method may also be extremely displeasing for bystanders to observe”.)
The reason I still think this ignorant twat could be real is the terrifying amount of stupidity out there. Once, at work, I had a woman ask me what 2% of 100 was. 2 per-cent, 2 per 100, dingledoofus! I hated math class, but it doesn’t take a genius!
I still wish there were a horse license, same as for driving. If the state requires you to know how to drive, have insurance, and have some way to verify the car’s yours if it’s stolen or shows up somewhere suspicious, how much more should you meet requirements for owning a horse? Also, a driving license _can_ be revoked if you screw up.
Ah… I think I get it…
Shovels is saying to beware of even HERE.. on this blog.. because scammers are everywhere, and someone here could suggest a ‘rescue’ and where to ‘donate money’ to ‘save’ a horse from a BYB or a person like this gal is(?)
Shovels is right, I wouldn’t doubt there are ‘tag teams’ out there that would set one up like this, to make the FHOTD, then turn around and sell it to someone at a higher price than at the auction because they read the fugly blog and came to ‘rescue’ the horse from the back yard hick/abuse person.
At least I think that is were they were going with this. Just a caution that anyone that wants to go ‘save’ one better be aware that they may be scammed in this manner.

ROTFLMAO, this is one really sensible solution. Birth control in cheap beer. I love it.
My, how the malcontents whine!
Miss Leanne, could you tell me just how many horses you have? None? So why do you sit in judgment of everyone else’s? Does it have something to do with the saying, “those who can’t do…just bitch”? Cuz that’s how I see it. Reading your blog was interesting. Turned out to be nothing more than you complaining about what everyone else is doing. Funny how you’re not out there doing anything similar. I guess you wouldn’t want to be called a hypocrite, right?
Oh and Perrys mama. How good it is to see you’ve finally found a place where your form of condescension, self loathing, and hypocrisy is not only tolerated, but encouraged!
You know, I think it’s funny how the two of you claim to have left Horsetopia willingly. It wouldn’t have anything to do with the fact that you two weren’t allowed to post without having your posts approved, would it? Be careful in your answer…I know the truth.
Heaven forbid a web forum tries to be a decent place where everyone can feel welcome. I can see how you two wouldn’t be at home there and would look down on it.
Truth is, neither one of you are happy unless you’re tearing down someone else so you can feel good about yourself.
Such sad lives you guys lead when all you can do is bad mouth others.
Be the judgmental malcontents that you are here and enjoy yourself. Just don’t think you’re fooling anyone into believing that you actually know what you’re talking about. You guys certainly put the shit in bullshit. Kind of give it a bad name too. That’s another subject for another day!

I have kind of wondered about this myself, since I went to the family’s website and now notice that they have several horses listed as sold. They also haven’t come on here to call names and threaten.
This could be a great way to get publicity for your sales. People would be flocking to your operation to save the horses.
Not saying this girl isn’t an idiot but it is a scam that it would be good to consider.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
There’s nothing wrong with making people feel welcome or trying to keep things decent or nice. Unfortunately that’s not possible on the web. There will always be trolls and malcontents. The problem I’ve found with horse forums or any forums that I’ve been a member of is that the moderators all have a different idea of what’s “nice” or “acceptable” behavior and tend to go overboard into censorship especially when they don’t agree with what is being posted.
I want honesty, not coddling and little white lies to make people feel warm and gooey. Especially with horses as irresponsible or stupid behavior can be so dangerous to the horses and the humans.
>>This could be a great way to get publicity for your sales. People would be flocking to your operation to save the horses.< <
Very true. As I’ve said before, don’t “rescue” for more than meat price…EVER. If I say that I’d love to see someone go and buy a horse and save it, I don’t mean for you to spend 5x its value doing so. That’s paying a ransom to a BYB and it helps nothing.
Now if it’s $20 like that mare in California, by all means, go and get it if you have the time and resources to evaluate it and either rehome it or euthanize it if it’s crippled beyond repair.
My recommendations for horse forums are on MySpace. I’ve been to COTH and Horse Illustrated’s forum and they’re polar opposites. On COTH you find the elitists, while on HI you find the pleasers without much of a clue.
On MySpace groups they have the Hunter/Jumper/Horse Shows group, a Quarter Horse group, Equus group and my personal fav, Barn Party where you can get KNOWLEDGABLE advice on anything from nutrition, grooming and training to boy advice, hair care and beauty needs! lol A total horse girl forum. We get snarky only when stupidity and/or ignorance rears it’s ugly head.
I highly recommend the groups on MySpace, however that doesn’t cancel out the morons, since as we know, they’re everywhere! Yikes!
Very true Fugly. There’s no need to pay more than meat price for a rescue. If you do, you’re being a sucker.
To uninformed people — I just discovered my daughter was posting untrue things on the internet without my knowledge. She is 10 years old and you cannot believe a single word of anything she has written. We do NOT abuse our horses, they have a much better home then most. We give them unlimited access to hay and water, 20 acres to roam, I am outraged that you people are so quick to believe everything a kid writes. I do NOT like being threatened and the police have been notified. If anyone shows up on our property, it is trespassing and the police will be called. One person threatened to come and kick us in the face, I will not take threats lightly and your info has been handed to the police department.
We do NOT abuse our animals, we spent over $1,000 to save our house cat with bladder stones. We hand raised a colt for over 2 months when his mother wouldn’t accept him, don’t you dare tell me we abuse out animals!!!! We have kept a blind mare for 15 years, when most people would have gotten rid of her long ago. We saved 2 dogs who had contracted parvo before we bought them, costing another $600.
We did not realize Maya had bad ankles when we bought her, she won’t be bred again.
Anymore threats will be forwarded to the police so I suggest you do not threaten my family. I am not taking this as a joke but very seriously.
I will not respond to any comments. I have stated what I felt needed said.
Well, the mods on hoof-printz are playing poor soory girl who got her feelings hurt… Every one is bad for offending her. So I posted a nice reply that I’m sure will get me banned (I ony joined to follow this so I don’t really care)
My response to one in particular who is “disgusted that people have to drag this crap out.”:
Repling to Stauffer – I think the whole pont of this getting called out is that everyone involved is disgused by this persons treatment of her horses… People are sick of the abuse that is allowed to continue because everyone is afraid of people getting thier feelings hurt. I for one am concerned about the horses that are getting hurt and am glad she got called out. I’ll probably get banned for stating my opinion but I strongly believe in freedom of speech and freedom of opinion!
starrynightxxi- My Dad was raised on a dairy farm in eastern PA. He moved to AZ when he was young, because of health problems. The doctors basicly told him to move or stay here and die. He moved to AZ without much money and no relatives. Landed a decent job at the college, found housing nearby and made a life for himself.
I know plenty of folks who struggle to put themselves through school while holding down a full time job, (or two) single parents, the whole nine yards. Any one of them could throw up their hands and say forget it, go sit on their duff watching the boob tube and soak up the welfare funds.
I totally agree with you. It is the amount of ambition or the lack of it, that helps or hinders the situation. Everyone blames their folks for all the problems in their life, whether or not they actually had anything to do with any of it. There is a huge wave of ‘lack of responsibility’, and ‘no accountability’ going around. Those of us who won’t be swept under by them are the ones who either took the time to learn to swim or built a boat, and row.
Horsepoor,
Well, you should take a gander at Alex Brown Racing today…the ever popular CBER has a horse up for a big ransom. Another rescuer saw the same horse go through an auction the week before for practically nothing. Of course the CBER supporters have now come on line to justify things. The fur hasn’t flown yet, but it’s only a matter of time.
dlgilbert4 …. There is a Canadian forum called EMG that is great for that… Type “equiman” into google and it will come up. There are a bunch of kids there too – but you will also get some good advice… I think this site now has a forum too
>>She is 10 years old and you cannot believe a single word of anything she has written.< <
She’s a pathalogical liar?
No adult monitoring her internet access?
Your info is openly displayed online, that’s an invitation for trouble of many sorts.
Hee, I wish. Her horses are nicer than mine.
If Perrys mama was such a good judge of horse conformation, why did she insist on riding one with such structural unsoundness?…
>>She is 10 years old and you cannot believe a single word of anything she has written.< <
I’m not buying the happy la la home for animals either… 10 year old girls should be having galloping thru green pasture fantasys, not beat the crap out of the horse rants. She is learning it from somewhere and much of that writing is based on her experiences, 10 year olds don’t make up that kind of crap!
I feel stupid now. Her blog left me breathless, I could feel my IQ dropping dramatically
Tina- >>>She is 10 years old and you cannot believe a single word of anything she has written.< <<
Wow! So does she also have a my space site too? Just curious, as Dateline does many episodes of “To Catch a Preditor” and they may be beating down your door long before we are.
Did anyone happen to catch the one with the guy who was a police officer, and when they searched his car he had guns and ammo GALORE? This guy was armed to the gills! Even the officers arresting him were shocked. Never actually seen anyone ‘shit a brick’, but many of them came close to doing so. On national TV to boot!
Tina, babe, if she’s displaying this behaviour at 10 years old… you, my dear are headed down a long and dreary road in the not too distant future with this girl.
A little parent supervision, removing her computer from her room, limiting her time on the computer, and maybe giving her some chores to keep her busy are good places to start.
Might I also suggest some serious professional counseling NOW, before things progress to the point you and your hubby cannot handle it yourself. Check with her school, they should have counselors that can help, if not, they should be able to point you in a general direction. You can also check with your family doctor, insurance provider or at the very least-the blue govt. listings for your states mental health services in the front of the phone book.
Help is there, sometimes you just have to ask for it. Your daughters postings are not asking, they are begging if not screaming.
BTW- If she is willing to lie this blatently online, don’t be suprised if the cops show up because she told them some fantabulous story about you and Daddy whoopin up on her. It could easily happen. Any bruise at all and you and Poppy are going downtown with the boys in blue.
sarcastabitch said…
I never said she was a good judge of conformation, just that her horses were nicer than MINE. It wouldn’t take much. Yours probably are too.
Are you schizophrenic? Or suffering from Multiple Personalities Disorder?

No it won’t. Alex will delete it. He protects CBER, every time. I’ve started to think they’re sending him a cut!
Tina – PLEASE supervise your daughter with the animals. Scary, just plain scary. And I agree, keep her off the computer. Sheesh. You’ve got a real problem in the making.
Perrys Mama – Perhaps the reason your horses behave as badly as your offspring is because anytime you put as disgustingly corpulent of a horse owner as yourself on a poorly conformed swaybacked nag, you’re bound to get temperament issues.
Horse experienced my butt. Every horse person knows not to break a yearling. So what, the horse bucks, HELLO they all buck and rear. Check your saddle, bridle, etc. Don’t be so rough on the poor guy. I would have thrown both of you off. Go back to ground work and gain his/her trust. DO NOT WEAR SPURS. How old are you?? Definately, spelling is not your strong point. Oh, wait nothing is. You are an ignorant person. The horse is built down hill. The horses are better off at the auction then they are with you. Where are you located??? Oh, your mom had stitches, waaaa, cry me a river. Everyone knows there is a risk involved when you ride horses. It comes with the territory. Everyone gets thrown off in their lifetime. You know the saying “Get bucked off, get right back on, get bucked off again, get right back on, get bucked off the third time, you become a cowboy.” GET A LIFE AND GIVE YOUR POOR HORSES AWAY. NO WONDER THEY DO WHAT THEY DO, YOU ARE A HOPELESS WRECK.
Poor horses. Someone should run her 100 miles in the desert with no water. What an illeterate idiot she is.
RE: OT, Salem Oregon Craig’s List:
I emailed the owner – am waiting to hear back.
Um, Tina the Mom?
>>We hand raised a colt for over 2 months when his mother wouldn’t accept him, don’t you dare tell me we abuse out animals!!!! We have kept a blind mare for 15 years, when most people would have gotten rid of her long ago.< <
So are you denying that this blind mare got accidentally pregnant while in your possession and that the colt you talk about being rejected by his mom is hers? Your daughter also told THAT story. If that’s true, you are every name I called you. You know, even if a stallion gets loose (which WHY is a grade horse a stallion to begin with???), you can give the mare a shot and term the pregnancy. But again, YOU DIDN’T KNOW THAT because YOU NEVER CALL THE VET.
Explain that one. All fantasies of your 10 y.o. daughter? Either the colt doesn’t exist or you’re irresponsible, and you just admitted he does.
Grullo,
Thanks. As my kids would say, “What she meant, not what she said”.
Can I get you to edit my reports? Maybe sit in on a dang oral board I just can’t get through (speaking is even worse than writing)?
I’m 19, I’m fairly young, evem though I have been around horses my whole life, and I do call myself experienced, but that’s because I took riding lessons for 8 of those years and I ahve worked for several different stables and I have trained several different horses. I broke my first horse at 14. And Horses always have respect for me. Why? Because I “talk” to them.
In other words, I speak to them as another horse, I have learned that eye contact with the horse is bad, never look a horse in the eyes because the horse takes it as a threat. However, never let a horse look down on you other wise you can be hurt quite badly.
To speak horse you need to understand their body language as well as your own. Every movement a person makes means something to the horse, if you say the wrong thing, your friendship ends.
It’s not the easyest thing to learn, but if I dind’t know this, I would not call myself experienced.
Another addition, No one is ever finished learning, if you can’t expand your knowledge about the one thing you deal with your whole life, then there’s a lot of reading and asking questions to do.
I ahve a teacher that always told me “Know what’s normal, and you’ll know something’s wrong”
If that makes any sence, it really did help me.
when my yearling began to stock up, I know he didn’t look normal. This is the time I took to go out every day to have a look at them. Called the vet turns out he wasn’t “stocked up” he actually had a body infection because of a cut on his chest. We had him on anti-biotics.
Knowing what your horse is like, knowing how they eat, what food they like, how much water they drink where they poop and even When they poop.
Bad habbits on the lead line, good ones, and under saddle. everything a horse does comments on the horse, if the horse is a head bobber and all of a sudden for a lesson doens’t bob his head, some people would concider this good, but maybe he’s not bobbing his head because he’s in pain..
gosh, I’m so off topic with this, but I just love to share knowledge!

Unfortunately, living in Western NC, I see this attitude toward all animals. The best prevention would be to put birth control in cheap beer. Presto, problem solved…LOL
Ha ha ha! I joke about becoming a Depo ninja with Depo blowdarts. Too bad those don’t exist….
Lawlessshadow- my, for someone who likes the warm and squishy boards, you sure are a not very nice person.
As for the mom of this young lady, I guess the moral of the story is that you need to:
1) Monitor her internet usage.
2) get her some appropriate lessons on an appropriate horse with a decent trainer that she can soak up some good herdsmanship from.
“Perrys Mama – Perhaps the reason your horses behave as badly as your offspring is because anytime you put as disgustingly corpulent of a horse owner as yourself on a poorly conformed swaybacked nag, you’re bound to get temperament issues.”
Hmm, this must be more of that “golden rule” y’all over at HT are always talking about.
So let me get this straight. A 10 year old girl is playing some online sim game and posting to forums about her horses?
Wow, I must be a really strict mom because I wouldn’t let my 10 year old touch a forum with a 10 foot keyboard. If I did find out she was, and was spreading “lies” about how we treat our animals, I’d set the record straight nicely then ground her for life.
Shovels is saying s/he thinks the post was faked in that a fugly fan pretended to be the biggest dumbass idiot they possibly could be to ‘further the cause’ of “look at all the idiocy that’s out there.
(I have only read Shovel’s first post, so if there have been more, sorry.)
Also, my favorite part of the blog:
Maya wither will be shot, sold, or auctioned off. I have been rideing her, and after getting reared on, bucked and terrible other things, I have finally got the overeo to the point were you can do anything on her buit run. For if you run, she will buck. Not a wild buck, but a buck that you can stay on with. I am so sick of her.
Followed closely by,
“I retrained Maya and she is great.”
Hi ambre! *waves*
Lawlessshadow is pretty standard Horsetopia. They’re worse than a show barn. Of course, sweet as pie until you dare disagree.
I see you got the usual TMom hate over there earlier this week…what was it, genetics this time? She belongs here with me!
Oh, and duh, this is Perry’s Mama. And my swaybacked nag is IN FACT a swaybacked nag. Of course, my 5’10″ size 10 self isn’t really DISGUSTINGLY corpulent, although I will admit to thunder thighs.
Also, Perry’s Mama has no offspring to be misbehaving, so I think you may be mistaken, miss lawless.
Tina- “We did not realize Maya had bad ankles when we bought her”….
Are you freakin assed blind?
Tina – as far as the police go, please do call them. Perhaps an animal cruelty citation or two can be finagled out of this for you. Or maybe even a seizure of these poor creatures. Also you can show off your sterling example of parenthood to the police, maybe they’ll seize her too. Most likely though they’ll write you off as a nutcase.
Euthanization or the auction would be the best alternative for any animal you own.
Haha, PM, I figured you out a long time ago
I finally gave up on HT when I realized that like 5 people have a snark pass, yet if you snark back at them you get your hands slapped. I did like quite a few people over there, it’s really a bummer that a few rude, obnoxious apples can ruin an entire board
It was so helpful when I was in the market for my own swaybacked nag.
Ah, well, at least I will escape having to read messages like this one and bite my tongue (because it’s OK to say that gay men are all child molesters, but if you tell someone they might want to have a vet check something you’ll get banned *rolls eyes)
Oh, I forgot- were you around when I told the guy that beating his horse into the ground was probably not an acceptible discipline tool, and like 100 people jumped to his defense?
Oh yeah. A few other people I respected tended to think that he was being a bit harsh, and they were also jumped on.
The snark pass was my turn-off too. I can give as good as I get, but as soon as I did, I was banned. AGAIN. 3 times, but they finally booted me off for good yesterday.
As TMom is fond of telling me though, there I go “running my mouth”.
I liked a lot of people over on Horsetopia too…but a few of the Moderators and their crew of friends just finally got to me. It’s fine to have a board for your friends…just don’t dilly-dally around with that “Golden Rule” nonsense, and own what you say!
I still want to know how the lovely TMom came to the conclusion that I was corpulent and had badly behaved children…
I want to know how the lovely Tmom came up with the word corpulent when she usually can’t write her own name.
Hmm, true that.
I sorta called out one of the Mods on HT yesterday, had to eventually state in plain english something to the effect ‘it’s wrong to ignore animal abuse/ cruelty just so that someone’s feelings don’t get hurt’ because they kept playing stupid…. I was completly suprised that I didn’t get banned, but after a few more comments whining about how harassing the girl was just wrong, and another mod whining that she didn’t want to be a mod anymore because everyone was being so mean (to me an obvious attemt to get some petting and oh poor sorry me sympathy) they, suprise suprise, deleted the whole thread! Blah! I feel quite sorry for you guys there that do care about the horses and are overpowered by the ‘if we ignore it it dosn’t exist’ crowd who is happy in thier fantasy land. I’m sorry but those are the type of people who help perpetuate the abuse of the horses, by ignoring that it is happening, they are just as bad as the people doing it! Ok, done ranting!
By the way, did anyone forward this to animal control or law enforcement in the Knox, pa area to see if they can investigate further and get the animals placed into proper homes?

Oh looky what we have here…a pretender. Were you feeling left out and wanted some attention so you came up with a lie? Such a sad life.
And no, this is NOT TMom. Nice try though. Keep grasping at straws. For someone who claims to be so smart, you sure can act dumb.

Sorry honey! I have PM’s over there thanking me for my statements, just because you guys delete it dosn’t mean it all goes away! Plus I get the feeling that no one over here really believes anything you have to say so I have no need do defend myself. You have done all of the work to show us just what kind of person you are in your posts. Go back to your little HP happy world where you can continue to live in ignorance and let the horse abuse continue by censoring and deleting the opinions you don’t like. (not meant to offend the HP patrons who have tried to stand up against the brainless masses, thanks guys!)

Well, you can live in your own little dream world. It didn’t happen, but whatever.
I’m trying to find where I said I was a member of Horsetopia. Maybe you could point out where I said that?
I’ve shown the kind of person I am? What? The kind of person who will call someone on the bullshit? Instead of bad mouthing people behind their backs? Thanks, I’m proud of it.

I apologise, I just realised I mis-spoke in my first post, I meant HP (hoof-printz) where this is all started at, I did get it right in the second post… I did not post anything on Horsetopia.
I’ve shown the kind of person I am? What? The kind of person who will call someone on the bullshit? Instead of bad mouthing people behind their backs? Thanks, I’m proud of it.
Call someone on the bullshit. Yes. Right.
For not being a member of Horsetopia, you sure seem to know a lot about it. And you “know the truth”…so that should mean, what…you lead the kind of life where you follow the soap operas of a group you don’t belong to?
Stick around though, it will be fun to see you try and present anything knowledgeable. Why don’t you try posting something relevant and seeing what happens?
Don’t worry sarcastabitch, I’m done with you. I got what I wanted and can now move on peacefully. You may now resume tearing down others so you can feel good about yourself. Enjoy!
And what was it you wanted?
Hahaha
I was permanently banned from HT. Why? For what I wrote here (apparently about tmom not being able to write her own name? I dunno, something about dissing other members) and… check this out… for telling someone in a PM why I left (because some people were allowed to be snarky and others were not).
And yet whomever this restless person is, is allowed to call Perry’s Mama (also a member of HT until her banning) a corpulent hag.
Bahahahaha
Yep, HT has really done themselves some favors here! You guys are just fullll of logic. Pot? Meet kettle.
Ah, pfft. Lawless, restless whatever. It’s all the same. Basically, I was banned for posting here. And now I’ll never get that PM about the money I owe someone. If the someone I owe money to reads this, I do have your address and it will get to you
And for what it’s worth, I never have tried to hide my identity, nor have I been ashamed of what I say here or anywhere- if anyone needs me I’m also draftxrider on UDBB
And for the record I find this blog very amusing, even if I don’t always agree with either the content or the tone (free country, no?).
Aw, I’m sorry you got banned Ambre.
lawlessshadow is entitled to her/his/its opinions of me, but it would help their credibility enormously if they actually knew anything about me.
I think his/her opinion is that you’re a sarcastic bitch.
I assume you vehemently disagree?
I definitely am here anyway.
See, I just finally got so fed up of random people telling me I didn’t know what I was doing with horses, that I assumed an entirely different online-attitude.
Many people I know and respect regularly tell me I don’t know what I’m doing, and I appreciate their input and advice…but I do also know that I have come a long way by actively pursuing knowledge about horses, and that I too am entitled to post an opinion.
Curse me if it might have a ring of truth.
So here’s a message to the people I came here to avoid:
Horses ain’t rocket surgery. Just because it took you 30 years to figure something out doesn’t mean that I can’t reach the same conclusion in thirty seconds. It is entirely possible that I will NEVER grasp the same conclusion…BUT if you respect my limited knowledge, you will find that I respect your (possibly) greater knowledge all the more.
Sarcasta & Ambre,
Not too sorry about butting into your conversation, but I thought that you may both find this emoticon appropriate…..
Moderator’s Smiley
Please take this with all the humor intended…. I, once, was banned from a forum, also.
Oh, you have to watch it for a second to get the full effect.
Here is an awesome GELDING for $2000. Scroll down until you see “Rooster”…if that paint monstrosity is worth a grand, then these handsome fella should be worth about 10 grand!
http://www.buckaroohorse.com/horses_for_sale.htm
Lianne- I have a teacher that always told me “Know what’s normal, and you’ll know something’s wrong”
Soooo true! In the case of my TB mare who coliced back in September. She had just contributed a huge pile of poop, right in front of her gate, was standing quietly, and was actually on her way to the water tub for a drink. Not any of the ‘normal’ signs of colic, but she was. She didn’t ‘look right’ to me.
She was bloated beyond belief, and gas colicing. (She cribs like a buzz saw) we put her on a longe line and worked her for about 15 minutes at a trot, farting the whole time. She never did an explosive one, but enough to get her sides back down where they belonged.
She was up to doing this once a day, until we switched her over to pellets, put her on probiotics, got her teeth done, and put her into the working rotation around 10-noon (about the time she was colicing), so she would be out and ‘working out the bubbles’, rather than bloating up in her stall every day.
For those who want to trash HT, its easy to run your gator on the internet, but face to face with the person you are trashing always turns into a different story.
And not with the one you are trashing, but with you.
People want honesty, but some cannot handle it and there is a right way and a wrong way.
All this BS on here will not change the world but only make those feel good in attacking someone else.
If you want regulations on breeding, go to another country. This is the land of the free as I have seen mentioned on here to condon what is said on this blog.
Cant have it just one way. If you feel you have the right to speech, then others have the right to do as they please. Be it right or wrong.
I dont see any one of you able to walk on water and sit in judgement.
There is only one who can do that.
If you dont like what HT has to offer and how they handle that site. Then why dont you just stay away? No one asks you to even go there. From what I am seeing, only to get information to use to trash people with.
When I first came to this blog, I thought maybe it was educational.
Got a big shock on that one.
Education is not trashing and belittling someone.
Must feel good to be able to do that, huh?
You want to change the situation, then be helpful, not harmful. Or does anyone here have that in them?
I see ignorance and stupidity thrown around on here a lot. When I see some of these post, I feel the same way.
Suppose to be educated people who act like they are back in High School.
I have seen plenty in my life time of animal neglect. I dont go to some blog to throw around BS, but I go out and help.
All I can say if it makes you feel a better person and you can sleep at night knowing you slammed someone, then more power to you.
Karma always finds its way back.
Bad for bad.
Hmm, that was too mean, even for me.
justcallmeinsane, I’m sorry that your feelings were hurt so badly. As a friendly warning, you may not enjoy the content of this website, and it most likely has nothing to do with you.
See, that was WAY nicer.
Sarcastabitch
Never said I had hurt feelings, read my post.
I have been on HT for a long time and those who get booted are the ones who think they can judge someone else and know how iot should be done or is the best at what ever and let thir mouth over load their butt.
WHEN/IF they were face to face with the person they are attacking, they would sing another tune.
Those who cant follow rules and want to make their own are the ones who always sing louder to complain about other people and start a long line of trouble.
As a friendly warning, you may not
enjoy the content of this website… can mean a lot of things. Never expected to see what I thought was grown people acting like 2 year olds because they didnt get their way.
What I see is a bunch of people who are disillusioned that attacking someone else is going to change what this blog is pointing out.
Not enough drama in their own lives or something missing in their lives, have to come here and claim they are making a difference and slam these other people.
If anyone would stop and think, really sad.
I also see a lot of finger pointing and name calling, and no real solutions given or anyone putting money where they are blowing all this hot air from and go get all these horses in need or drive x amount of miles to try and educate or help.
I am sure there are people already checking into the copyright laws.
I think I may forward this on to a attorney of mine and see what he says about the copyright laws without the permisson of the person who owns the pictures.
Ya’ll have a great time slamming people, ya hear!
Just a little hillbilly joke there.
If you dont like what HT has to offer and how they handle that site. Then why dont you just stay away? No one asks you to even go there. From what I am seeing, only to get information to use to trash people with.
Err, OK. Other than one snarky comment I made about a member (made when I thought she was the one posting really rude things) I have trashed nobody. My posting here does NOT mean I agree with everyting people say. I most certainly don’t, any more than I agreed with everything written on HT when I was posting there.
All I said was that I stopped visiting HT because I disagreed with some of the moderating decisions. Now, notice I did not post any diatribe on HT announcing that I was planning to leave. I just stopped visiting.
But you will not find a single link or message from me prior to that post saying ANYTHING negative about a person from HT. If you want to ban me because I disapprove of the moderation, or because I disagree with some of the things posted there, then fine- but don’t accuse me of doing things I did not do. I don’t really appreciate the implication that I was being two faced to people I cared about.
The people I was frustrated/annoyed with knew who they were. If I didn’t snark at you to your face, I certainly didn’t snark at you behind your back.
And I don’t believe I ever said anything about a breeding license either. Sarcastabitch and I are two completely different people with completely different opinions.
I would also like to say that I think the author of the blog is a horse lover. I think some of the people who post comments do so just to snark, but I just pass on by those. In between the “oh my god look how fugly this one is!” comments there are things to learn.

I wasnt talking about what you posted on HT, but what you posted here.
You assumed it was Tmom and made snarky comments about her and about HT before you really had your facts.
Thats what happens when people think they know what they are talking about and go off half cocked. Starts BS every time.
As for the owner of this blog, loving horses and slamming someone is totally two different things.
And who is to say they know more about things posted on here than another and have the right to say what someone else can or cannot do?
How about I tell you what to do?
Educate people without the slamming, name calling and belittling.
That only shows me the mentality of those who do this. And I thought the human race had evolved far beyond that.
I saw in post the rude comments about the young girl. Really what are you teaching and showing others as well as your own children and how you present yourself?
As I stated before its easy to hide behind the internet, but when confronted face to face, always a different story.
Set an example and help people.
This does not help anyone but show the lack of respect for the people posted on here without positive proof.
An eye for an eye, it will always come back double on what you do to other people.
