WOW!! Thanks! You rock!
awesome!!!
Off topic but had to share… My girlfriend and I went riding in the desert last night around 7 PM. About half way through the ride we discovered 6 little kittens in the sagebrush by the side of the road. Poor little things came tumbling down the incline, running toward us mewing. I was afraid the horses would step on them, but they were careful and didn’t move at all! The kittens are very tame, maybe 6 weeks old, and were very thirsty and hungry. We gathered them up and my friend held them in her tshirt. We called her husband and he drove over and got them from us and took them home. Their teenage girls are taking care of them. We think they’re all going to make it.
PISSES ME OFF!! I sure would like to get my hands on the fucktard that dumped them in the desert! Bastard couldn’t even man up and take them to the animal shelter.
Oh, and somewhere in there my cell dropped out of my pocket and I discovered it missing when I got home. Shit! It was dark by then, so I got a flashlight and drove over to where we found the kittens. No phone. But I did find 2 MORE kittens that seemed a little older and no where near as tame as the first 6. I wasn’t able to catch them.
So I got up at the effing crack of dawn, saddled up my horse and retraced our ride last night. Good news is I found my cell phone. Yay! (Bad news is, since I found the cell, it will be a while before I get an iPhone.)
Three of us went back out there today to try and catch the last two kittens, but they were gone.
How can anyone be so heartless as to dump helpless kittens in the desert??! *bewildered*

I’d like to help you.
Again, this entire situation could have been prevented by SPAYING.
Did you forget to list the link in which you provided positive Natural Horsemanship counter-examples to balance out your little Parelli tirade? Or had you just not gotten to that yet? Maybe you were busy compiling equally horrifying photos of hunter/jumper and dressage riders (Rollkur, anyone?).
Anyway, this should get you started…
Non-traditional horsemanship at its best: http://hauteecole.ru/en/photogallery.php?id=71&gid=1
Traditional horsemanship at its worst:

I’ve had a post of bad jumping.
I can’t imagine how I would post a picture of good natural horsemanship, since that usually involves someone getting a horse to ride nicely without any carrot sticks, cow patterned barrels, or big green fluorescent balls. The good natural horsemanship practitioners – the people who listen to the horse’s body language, make it easy for the horse to do the right thing, and take time to bond with the horse before demanding performance, have been around forever. They don’t have any particular specific discipline, tack, or any other distinguishing features. You see what they are when you watch them school a horse. If I find a good youtube video of someone like this, that’s something I could post.
No problem–here’s two.

I’ll be the first to say that the horse in the second video loses a lot of collection and impulsion when she switches from ground work to riding, but he’s obviously coming along.
Note the natural collection and cadence particularly of the horse in the first video. That is one of the hallmark goals of anyone correctly practicing the principles that characterize “Natural Horsemanship”–the encouragement and cultivation of the horse’s natural abilities.
What about all those andalusian & lusitano people who refuse to geld? I have a beautiful looking, beautiful moving andalusian GELDING. I get crap about it. Geesh. There are some really spectacular stallions out there. What is the point of one more? These same people are also becoming hooked on black and bay andalusians. And now its all about color
This has nothing to do with the original post, but is more inline with the “NH/Stupid People Tricks” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oAZocFmrB9U&mode=related&search=
